This is a saltshaker that was designed and modeled in a manufacturing processes class. The model was built in Rhino 3d then printed as an stereolithography on a 3d printer. The osage-orange wood was turned on a lathe and fit into the center.

Aluminum Extrusion Book Binding

This is a project that I did in for the 2006 International Aluminum Extrusion Competition. It was inspired by Cradle to Cradle By William McDonough & Michael Braungart. The binding is of course aluminum making it 100% recyclable. I suggest that rivets instead of harmful glues are used to hold the covers and pages in the binding. The cover can be made with a biodegradable plastic. The pages can be printed with an ink that floats off the paper in high temperature water.
